Parents Hub

Our parents are encouraged to form a close relationship with us at Lighthouse School and to play a key part in school life.

We have an open-door policy to encourage regular contact and parents are invited to attend progress meetings (at least one each term) and also receive weekly reports and emails.
It is important for the pupils that the skills they are taught at school are practised at home, where possible, to reinforce their learning. If required, training is provided for parents to ensure that they can help pupils to transfer their learning into home and community settings. This is particularly important with social, communication and life skills.

Parents are also offered advice on coping strategies to manage some of the more challenging behaviours associated with autism.
